Catawba County Parenting Network
828-465-8151 A coordinating system for all
parenting education and support opportunities in the
community. Offers a wide variety of parenting programs
including Active Parenting, Parent to Parent, Strengthening
Families, single-session workshops, self-study courses,
support groups, and many more. Call to find out about
specific classes and times. Supported by Catawba
County Schools.
Child Care

Financial assistance available through
Catawba County Social Services
to enable income-eligible children to attend high quality
child care programs. Also provides supplemental funds to
child care centers with higher quality standards to help
them maintain quality.
Children’s Resource Center
828-695-6565 A resource and referral agency
that provides families with an easy way to find licensed
child care centers, homes and other preschool programs, and
learn more about quality child care and other services.
Serves as a contact point for parents to access community
resources and maintains a special emphasis on improving
professional development and trainings to early childhood
educators.
Early Childhood
Support Team 695-6590
A multidisciplinary team made up of nurses, behavior
specialists, and education specialists who provide
consultation services and technical assistance for child
care centers. Coordinates health care plans for children
with special health care needs. Also provides individual
counseling and support for children and families who are
experiencing difficulties in child care settings and with
behavior challenges. Supported by
